We are being inundated these days by the many vigorous battles. To name a few - daily news casts, political conflicts, money woes, crime waves & social media.
During this time it has been a real challenge for me to know - how do I pray? How do I fight, do I take sides? I asked God to help me to pray!
In the quiet of my soul I heard God whisper.
"Let me show you The Real Fight"
Those who know me will understand my snarky response to God.
"Oh, do tell God!" Thinking all along God was going to give me a blueprint plan for some awesome warfare but I heard him say.
"The fight, Gina, the real fight is for WORDS"
The fight is for words and their meaning. It is for our words to speak truth with a honest heart! The fight; our 'this day' challenge is for our language and our communication skills. It is for our tongues and for the power in our tongues.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Proverbs 18:21
The real fight is for our words, our words are containers of power that create action. With our words we are judge and or jury. They have the power to give or take away life. These words have more power than if the person(s) is in fact guilty or not guilty.
Then I knew, that all that is in front of us was just smoke and mirrors! All distractions to get us all riled up, aimed at getting us off point, taking sides and designed to take us off what the real fight really is. Designed to get us to misuse our words. The fear of God suddenly came over me. I knew then that the real fight was for me to weigh my words carefully and not to rush into a warfare carelessly with I felt were right.
Remember, words....OUR WORDS have more power than if the situation proved to be right or wrong, if the person in fact is guilty or not.
The Real Fight is for His word made flesh in US!
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
