For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
I am praying that you will see that the ultimate fight is a wrestling match. This battle is for the power of our words! Our words carry the weight of life and/or death. Our words are the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God!
How does the word made flesh, actually become made in our flesh? Our flesh has a bad reputation. The Word of God tells us in James 1:6-8 that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. In 1 Timothy 3:8 it warns us not to be double-tongued. These are the paralyzing effects of our words. Out words are meant for life and life more abundantly.
Scripture gives us a choice.
Either make the tree good and with it comes good fruit or bad and with it comes bad fruit. For the tree is known by its fruit! Matthew 12:33
Our words are our fruit. Proverbs 15:4 - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. OUCH!!
The Real Fight!
Now, today, more than ever is the fight for words we speak. It is in the arena of the enemies arm that using words as their weapons against us. Words are made to give an impact. We have seen this clearly in the use of negative words. The abusive use of words creates a long lasting effect on ones life. It is a fruit that keeps on giving. I suspect that most of you reading this blog are word savvy. I am trusting that all of you are aware of the "new day" Jesus has us in. His call for the corporate church to become priest of His Presence and in becoming this, we enter into the revelation of what in fact God wants to accomplish.
On the front lines is a new and not so new....lets call it an ancient battle & it is in and for our words. In the garden the serpent used "words". He seduced with his words causing us to question our ability with 'did God really say'?! This is coming in as a clear well intentional battle, masked in climate change, the Green Deal and other sensitive titles. All to put forth the prevailing change of public opinion, through words, redefined, restructured self truths. "They" seek to change and shift the atmosphere, disguised as saving the already saved earth. This is not meant so one can ramp up their warfare with more words, more seeking out the demonic forces with more words. It is meant to quicken you, first to the fear of God, the think before you act. Not more Christian warfare traditions. The fight is for the word made flesh in us. The battle is presently distracting us from Christ being formed in us!
My first reaction to this word... The Real Fight is for Your Words - was, oh goody, lets go get em'! Lets begin to use the word and words God has placed in us and fight...But then it began to unfold. I remembered my experience in the season of consistent attacks on me personally, I ached but kept after God. I asked God why, how, and what am I to do?! One day when a certain person had walked out of our worship service...as she always did...I had enough! She would always return, so I walked to the door and locked it!! I heard God chuckle at me "Gina, unlock the door" I finally had my answer - after I unlocked the door of course. God said to me "Gina I am teaching you how to sit at the table with your enemies and betrayers. From that day on I have understood and I try to always remember about the word love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Our words are not meant for reacting, but responding with mercy and love. After all it is called a mercy seat! Words of mercy with acts of love are our now, new day warfare. Romans 3:25 and Exodus 28:17-22
The mercy seat is made of pure gold! Our
words are to be pure gold! We are to be priests of his presence. In this, Gods Word will grow in us, and here He will speak to us about all that he will give us, and his hearts desire for mercy and love through us!
